Run more mock tests without hiring more markers
evaleasy does automated marking for tutors and coaching centres: upload each student's answer sheets as their own file, and it marks every paper against one key. It reads answer grids and bubble sheets, compares MCQs with your key in code, and handles negative marking. You pay per page with no subscription, and credits don't expire between exam seasons.

How much is marking really costing you?
Every paper a teacher marks by hand is paid for in salary or in evenings. Drag the sliders and watch what comes back.
How do you get a stack of answer sheets in?
Each student's paper is one file, and evaleasy doesn't split files. 120 students on a 2-page answer sheet means 120 two-page PDFs. Under Many papers (bulk), add them all and the button reads "Evaluate 120 papers". A batch takes up to 1,000 papers.
Scan each student separately if your scanner makes that easy. If you've already scanned the stack into one PDF, split it with a PDF tool first, because a stack left as one file counts as one student's paper, and one over 30 pages is refused.
Each file goes up separately, so the 20 MB limit applies per student. Keep the page open until everything is sent. If the connection drops, "Try those again" resends only what failed, with no double charge. If you split a stack yourself, watch for these:
- A page is missing. Split by a fixed page count and every student after the gap gets the wrong work, so count first: 120 students at 2 pages is 240 pages.
- Two mistakes cancel out. A missing page and an extra page still add up to the right total, so count the stack before scanning, and check the first and last few reports.
- You scanned both sides. Blank backs count as pages and cost a credit each, so take them out once the stack is split.
- One student used an extra sheet. Put it in that student's file, because each file can have its own page count.
- No name on the sheet. The paper is named from the file instead, so name each file after the student or roll number, such as mock-3-roll-07.pdf.
Can evaleasy grade OMR sheets, answer grids and MCQ-heavy papers?
Yes. evaleasy reads bubble sheets and answer grids from an ordinary scan or phone photo, so you don't need an OMR machine or a special sheet. It's told to read the column headers and row numbers first, then follow each row across, and not to count faint smudges, scanner specks or printed empty bubbles as answers.
The reader never sees the answers in your key, so the key can't lean it towards the right option. If sheets show only answers, upload the question paper separately from the answer key, and set the question type to Multiple choice. Try it first on sheets you've already checked by hand.
How does negative marking work on a mock test?
Write the rule with your key, such as "Each question carries 4 marks. -1 for each wrong answer.", and code applies it. On a 100-question paper, a student with 60 right, 20 wrong and 20 blank gets 240 minus 20: 220 of 400, a score of 55 out of 100.
- A blank costs nothing, and a paper's total can't go below zero.
- Two bubbles on a one-answer question count as wrong, so the deduction applies.
- The deduction applies to multiple choice and true or false only. A wrong numerical answer earns 0.
- It's one figure per paper, so a test where sections carry different penalties won't be marked to your scheme.
What does automated marking cost for a mock test?
Each page costs 1 credit, with no subscription, so a quiet month costs nothing. The answer key and question paper aren't charged.
| Mock test | Credits | Pack that covers it |
|---|---|---|
| 25 students, 4 pages each | 100 | Starter: $5 |
| 120 students, 2 pages each | 240 | Standard: $20, with 260 credits left |
| 400 students, 5 pages each | 2,000 | Bulk: $70 |
What can you send on to students and parents?
You can send on each student's report yourself, because evaleasy doesn't message students or parents. On an all-MCQ paper marked against a key, the feedback is plain and factual: "Scored 14 of 20 marks. Lost marks on questions 3, 7." Papers with written answers get a short note addressed to the student.
Print one report at a time, or save it as a PDF from the print dialog. For a rank list, download the batch's CSV and sort by the Marks column.
Common questions
- What if I run out of credits halfway through a test?
- Papers already sent carry on being marked, and the rest are listed as "Not enough credits". Keep that page open, top up in another tab, and choose "Try those again".
- Students sent me phone photos. Can I mark those?
- Yes, as JPEG, PNG or WebP, but not iPhone HEIC. In bulk each file is one student, so join one student's several photos into a PDF first.
- Can it mark the descriptive section too?
- Yes. MCQs are compared in code and written answers are marked by the model, and each question says which way it was marked.
- Can it spot students copying in a mock test?
- It can flag possible copying for you to check. On a bulk evaluation, evaleasy compares the papers with each other and lists pairs that share written passages or the same unusual wrong answers. It costs no credits, doesn't change marks, and doesn't search the web.
- Where do my students' papers go?
- To AI model providers through OpenRouter, to be read and marked. Files stay in your account until you delete them.
Your next stack of papers doesn't have to be your problem.
